Woods: Below are just some of the veneers we offer, each an architectural quality wood, heavy cuts, plain sliced or quarter sawn, never rotery cut then applied with hydraulic presses under tons of pressure. We do not use contact cements or paper-backed veneer. Is there a difference? We think so. We avoid using pre-veneerd stock; each cut is hand set, while making every effort to avoid joining. Some exceptions are: crotches, burls and narrow stock, as these cuts are priced on an individual basis. In the event we need to aquire a veneer that is not in stock, we have access to a local supplier ensuring high quality, stunning cuts. Whether its an exotic or birds eye, we will hand select cuts as needed. Hand selection of veneer is very important part of high quality work. For some amazing veneer go to: www.certainlywood.com Many builders provide veneers themselves by purchasing the wood and having it delivered to us Many customers want to have their cabinets stained. In a production setting, staining is very easy. However, in order to stain a pair of speakers successfully, it requires doing sample staining, including finishing the sample. This adds not only additional cost and production time, but risk as well. Staining is truly an art. A word on veneer: trees are very individual plants, one tree can have wonderful color and grain, another identical species will have very different qualities - odd graining, staining, sap wood, twisting, checking and pin holes. We do the best we can to acquire the best cuts, keeping an eye out for woods that we feel are the most beautiful. When ordering a wood from what is thought of as a standard, the cut is rarely uniform. The variation is amazing. |
